SR-22 Endorsements

...also called an SR-22 certificate, is a form filed with the state to verify that a driver has the required minimum amount of liability insurance. It is not a type of insurance but rather a document that proves a driver is maintaining coverage that meets state-mandated requirements.

SR-22 endorsements are typically required for drivers who have been deemed high-risk due to certain infractions or legal reasons

Q: Can agents file SR-22 policy endorsements through the api?

A: No. Agent endorsement capability does not currently exist (as of July 2024).

Q: Can customers endorse policies?

A: Yes. Customers are able to file SR22s in the Root app post bind.

Q: Will an SR-22 endorsement change a premium?

A: Potentially. This varies state by state. I
