New Driver Decision Requirement in CT and WV

We will soon begin preventing quote finalization until a decision has been made for every driver in Connecticut (CT) and West Virginia (WV). This change will be implemented in the coming months.

For comparison, this behavior is already present in Oregon (OR), Arkansas (AR), and Texas (TX).

Affected Endpoints

• Create quote
• Patch quote
• Update quote
• Get quote
• Finalize quote

Background

When Root discovers drivers when running our pre-fill report, we will auto-attach those drivers to the quote with a status of Undecided. In most markets, we will prevent the finalization of that quote until the status for each driver is updated to one of the following:

• Decided
• Excluded
• Not in household
