Coverage-level Pricing Now Available in Quote Responses

We’ve added support for exposing per-coverage pricing directly in quote responses. This applies to most coverages and enables your integration to present the cost of individual coverage selections.

Affected Endpoints

🔍 What’s New

Each coverage object (within quote.coverages[].policy[] and quote.coverages[].vehicles[].coverages[]) now includes:

  • priceInCents: The price of that specific coverage, in cents (e.g. 1776)
    • This is scoped to the per-month price or the full-term price based on the invoice period (see quote.options.invoicePeriod). See this related post for more details.
  • priceDescription: A formatted string version of the price (e.g. "$17.76")

📌 Important Things to Know

  • Some coverages may have null values for priceInCents, but null ≠ free. Only 0 indicates a $0 price.
  • Coverage prices are not additive to compute the total premium. Final premium values include other adjustments (e.g., taxes, fees, invoice period).
  • If no invoice period is provided for quote.options.invoicePeriod, a monthly invoice period will be assumed for the returned per-coverage prices.
  • Behavior and structure are consistent across estimated and bindable quotes.
